Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapies

Both mindfulness and CBT offer valuable strategies for improving mental health. While mindfulness fosters awareness and acceptance, CBT provides structured techniques such as Identification of Negative Thoughts, Challenging distortions, Behavioural activation, Meditation, Implementing skills, thought records, Self-monitoring and Communication skills to challenge and change negative thinking patterns. When used together, they can enhance the effectiveness of treatment and promote greater emotional resilience and they help individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviours.
